LOS ANGELES -- The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without six players against the Los Angeles Chargers. In addition to the four players they ruled out with injures on Sunday, defensive linemen Brodric Martin-Rhodes and Logan Lee will not play.
Lee has been a consistent gameday inactive since Esezi Otomewo overtook his role throughout the game. Without Daniel Ekuale who is out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL, Lee has still struggled to get a helmet.
Meanwhile, Martin-Rhodes was just signed on Thursday and has just two practices under his belt. He will likely need some more practice time before the Steelers will let him play.
Guard Isaac Seumalo will not play with a pec injury. Seumalo left the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts with a pectoral injury and did not practice all week. The team quickly ruled him out.
He battled through the injury after suffering it against the Green Bay Packers, but now, the team decided it would be better if Seumalo sat. That will clear the way for Spencer Anderson to make his first start of the season, and it will be interesting to see what happens to the team’s jumbo package.
Meanwhile, inside linebacker Cole Holcomb remains out for the second straight week with an illness. It is unknown what illness Holcomb is currently dealing with but he has not practiced in nearly two weeks. That will give way to Malik Harrison to play more in his role.
Wide receiver Scotty Miller is out again as well, as he battles back from a broken finger. Miller has missed the last three games after suffering the injury in practice before the Packers game.
Lastly, safety Jabrill Peppers will not play as he battles a quad strain. Peppers was seen warming up, however, likely signaling that he should be okay after this game and has a real shot to return against the Cincinnati Bengals next week.
