Leeds United are starting to become aware of the huge challenge that is facing them this season.
After a bright start to the season, the Whites have lost their way, having won just one of their last six fixtures. That run has seen them concede 13 goals and score just six times.
As a result, the Yorkshire side now sit 16th in the Premier League table and just one point above the drop zone. This is due to West Ham and Nottingham Forest gaining three points over the weekend, with Forest winning 3-1 against Leeds themselves.
It means that the Elland Road club are at something of a crossroads with fans voicing their discontent towards Daniel Farke following the defeat to Forest at the City Ground.

Leeds' worrying form in the Premier League is a concern for supporters, but not a surprise. This is due to question marks over Farke's record in the Premier League. In two seasons in the top flight, Farke led Norwich City to relegation in 2019/20, before being sacked in November 2021 with the Canaries struggling in the league.
This term, things seem to be going a similar way and Leeds could be tempted by two managers who are currently out of work but have crucial Premier League experience.
Brendan Rodgers is available having recently resigned as Celtic boss. Having managed Swansea City, Liverpool and Leicester City in the top flight, the Northern Irish boss has extensive experience at both ends of the table and could offer valuable insight into how to keep the club in the top flight.
Gary O'Neil is also available, having left his last job with Wolves in December 2024. He guided Bournemouth to safety in 2022//23 before being replaced by Andoni Iraola. Taking the Wolves job as his next role, he led the club to a 14th place finish in his first season at Molineux.
While it remains to be seen if Leeds will pull the trigger on Farke, it must be tempting to move for a coach with proven experience of thriving in the Premier League. With the club outside of the drop zone and many months left of the season, it would give a new coach a solid platform to build on in order to build a team who can compete in the top flight.
Given the harsh reality of finances in English football right now, it's essential that Leeds do all that they can to survive in the top flight and that means being proactive.
