Denmark have confirmed today that Newcastle United’s William Osula won’t be part of their squad for November’s international break.
They took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to announce the striker has withdrawn due to injury.
Denmark manager Brian Riemer has called up Hamburg’s Yussuf Poulsen to replace the injured Newcastle United player. The coach believes Poulsen’s experience can be valuable for the World Cup qualifiers against Belarus and Scotland.
Osula received his first call up in September but hasn’t made his debut for Denmark. He was left out of the squad in October before Riemer included him for November.
However, the injury setback has forced the 22-year-old to withdraw from Riemer’s squad.
An ankle injury saw Eddie Howe to leave the frontman out of the squad just before the Magpies’ Champions League win over Athletic. The setback also meant he wasn’t available for Newcastle’s league defeat to Brentford on Sunday.
After this international break, The Tyneside club face Manchester City on November 22nd. Whether the Dane will be fit for this clash remains to be seen. He has three goals and an assist from 14 matches this season.
