Liverpool's Premier League title defence suffered another blow on Sunday after Arne Slot's side lost 3-0 at Manchester City. Goals from Erling Haaland, Nico Gonzalez and Jeremy Doku sealed a comfortable victory for Pep Guardiola's team.
The Reds have now lost four consecutive league matches away from home for the first time since 2012. Liverpool are eight points off league leaders Arsenal after 11 matches, with many questioning if their title defence is over already.
Slot's men will also be concerned over their chances of sealing a spot in next season's Champions League. The Reds are currently out of the European positions in eighth place.
However, the latest predicted table from Opta suggests that Liverpool should be confident of their place in Europe's elite competition for next season. They have the Reds in third with a 65.48 per cent chance of being in the Champions League next term.
But their title chances now look slim, according to the computer. They've given them just a 7.01 per cent chance of retaining their crown with a final points tally of 68.
Arsenal, meanwhile, have been given a 63.60 per cent chance of winning a first league title since 2004 with 80 points. The Gunners are currently four points clear of second-placed Man City, who are seen as having a 22.94% chance of winning the title with a predicted tally of 73 points.
Slot conceded after Sunday's loss at the Etihad Stadium that their chances of winning a record 21st English league title this season look remote.
"It feels (like) too many," he said. "The last thing I should speak about is the title race, we should focus on getting results after results after results. We are eighth now - and one team is quite far ahead, while City are fours points behind Arsenal.
"The last thing we should focus on is the title race, we could do it last season but not the seasons before. We need to improve, that is obvious."
