Match Report: Baltimore Ravens vs Minnesota Vikings

Within this game the Vikings experienced 9 false starts something that hasn’t happened in over five years.

After a cold start the Ravens and Lamar Jackson looked back to his best with an efficient 208 yards of total offence and a touch down.

The ravens came out first but some nice play calling from Brian Flores meant that othe Ravens went 3 and out.

On the next drive the biggest play of the firstQuarter occurred a 62 yard pass from Jj McCarthy to Jalen Nailor which saw Nailor brake multiple tackles, and lead to a walk in touchdown for Aaron Jones.

As the second quarter commenced a few nice completions saw the Vikings driving and the Ravens bent but didn’t brake forcing a field goal to make it 10-3.

The first rookie error of the sophomore QBs game came when he broke the pocket and tried to force a deep ball to Justin Jefferson which rookie first rounder Malaki Starks picked off.

A big bit of pressure with only a minute to go saw Dallas Turner hit Lamar with what he thought was a huge sack to knock them out of field goal range but a roughing the passer saw the score become 10-9.

The Vikings got the ball at half but unfortunately the woes didn’t end for McCarthy when he forced another ball to Jefferson resulting in a Marlon Humphrey interception which resulted in a field goal. 10-12.

A Miles Price fumble lead to Baltimore driving and a nice bit of trickery saw tight end Mark Andrew’s play Qb and pitch the ball to Jackson with Derrick Henry lead blocking which resulted in a key first down.

That drive ended in a nice carry for running back Justice Hill his only of the game and a touchdown.

On the very next kick off Price fumbled the ball again after contact from his own player luckily for the purple and gold it was recovered.

Following a blind side block from Adam Theilen and a nice defensive stand from Flores’ unit lead to some nice running from Aaron Jones and a rare drop from Justin Jefferson meant Kevin O’Connels team came away with a much needed three points.

The next drive for the away team in purple meant Derrick Henry touching the ball seven times for 47 yards the drive itself ended in a Mark Andrew’s touchdown. 27-13.

The game calmed down until McCarthy lead his team down and hit his favourite target of the day in Nailor a failed extra point saw the score go 27-19.
