Liverpool fans may have lost hope but there is still a chance they defend their title.
It really does feel a little doom and gloom for the Reds right now as Man City have just handed them their fifth defeat in the Premier League already this season.
That is more than they lost in the entirety of last season, with many supporters believing that their title hopes are over as early as November.

However, this simply is not the case and there are still 27 games left of the season, meaning 27 more chances to put things right.
There are many reasons why Liverpool fans should not give up hope just yet, with here being three that should turn any pessimism into optimism.

Liverpool have an easier run of fixtures coming up
Although there have still been games that Liverpool should have won, they have also had some pretty tough ones, most notably, Galatasaray, Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Brentford away.
Include Man United, Real Madrid and Man City in that too and it shows just how hard the Reds have had it, but now, on paper, things should get a little easier.
Their next three are Nottingham Forest and PSV at Anfield, before travelling to strugglers West Ham, three fixtures they are more than capable of getting nine points from.

Compare this to someone like Arsenal, who have Tottenham, Bayern Munich and Chelsea, then fans should be given hope that things could look very different heading into December.
It is a marathon and not a sprint, and as long as Liverpool can find their feet again soon, then they are still in this race.
When it clicks…
‘When it clicks’ is a saying that Liverpool fans will be bored of hearing, but it really is true.
The Reds have seen so much change over the summer that players need time to adjust and Arne Slot needs time to implement a new system, something that is taking longer than many would have thought.
But Liverpool have too many good players for it not to work, with their manager also proving in the past how tactically adept he is.
Once the frontline in particular gels, Liverpool will be firing on all cylinders, with this a really frightening prospect for rivals.
So when it clicks, it really will make a difference, and Reds supporters will be left in awe of just how good they might be.
Eight points is not fatal at this point in the season
Liverpool are eight points off league leaders Arsenal which may seem a lot, but it really is not in the grand scheme of things.
For example, Liverpool were five points clear at the top of the table not that long ago, and now find themselves in eighth, showing how quickly things can change.
Arsenal have also shown so many times before how they struggle to get over the line, with their wobble at Sunderland perhaps the beginning of the end.
Man City are also not as consistent as they once were when the Reds were pushing them all the way for the title, meaning that there is still plenty of hope that Liverpool can do it.
