Goals from Vivianne Miedema and Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw’ sealed a seventh straight WSL victory to send us top the table with a 2-1 win over the Toffees.
Miedema fired us ahead on 21 minutes, as she split through the Everton defence, before calmly slotting the ball into the net.
Both sides looked dangerous going forward and Everton’s Toni Payne set up the equaliser for Kelly Gago after 40 minutes.
City came out fighting in the second-half as we pushed for a winner and it was Bunny in trademark style who who provided it.
The prolific striker rose the highest to connect with Leila Ouahabi’s cross and thunder a header into the net.
Ayaka Yamashita made sure there was no second equaliser with a number of fine stops as City collected an important three points to move into top spot.
