NUFC players arrive at the Gtech Community Stadium
Newcastle United latest news: Anthony Gordon, Nick Pope, Joelinton and Yoane Wissa injury latest.
Eddie Howe’s side not only left the Gtech Community Stadium without any points, but also having suffered two injuries and a suspension to Joelinton, Nick Pope and Dan Burn respectively. With Manchester City to come after the international break, followed by games against Marseille and Everton, Howe will be desperate to have a fully fit squad to pick from once they return to action later this month.

Anthony Gordon - hip injury
Gordon has been withdrawn from international duty following a recurring hip injury. Gordon didn’t feature at the Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday and will not represent England in the upcoming international break.

Will Osula - ankle injury
Osula was withdrawn from Newcastle United’s squad to face Athletic Club just minutes before the two teams took to the pitch to take part in their warm-ups. An ankle injury, one that Osula has been managing over the last few weeks, given as the reason for his withdrawal.

Joelinton - knock
Joelinton was substituted in the first half of Sunday’s defeat to Brentford. The Brazilian had been treated by the physios a couple of times before eventually limping off the pitch to be replaced by Jacob Ramsey. His injury is not expected to keep him sidelined for too long, though.

Nick Pope - concussion
Pope suffered a concussion after a nasty looking fall on Sunday. He was withdrawn by the medical team and will not join up with England as he now follows concussion protocols. Those could expire before Newcastle United’s next game, meaning there is a chance he will be fit enough to face Manchester City later this month.

Tino Livramento - knee injury
Livramento suffered a knee injury against Arsenal in September and an eight week timescale on his return was pencilled in by the club. Livramento has returned to work on the grass and whilst he still faces a few more weeks on the sidelines, there is hope that he can return to action just after the international break.

Yoane Wissa - knee injury
Wissa has been sidelined with a PCL injury ever since his move from Brentford on deadline day. He is yet to feature for the Magpies but could make his long awaited debut just after the international break.

Harrison Ashby - thigh injury
Ashby has not been training with the first-team squad due to a thigh injury but no estimate has been given on his return date.

Dan Burn - suspension
Burn will serve a one-match following his red card against the Bees. He will serve that when Pep Guardiola’s side come to St James’ Park.
