After Federico Valverde, Real Madrid have lost another crucial player, Thibaut Courtois, to a muscle injury, the club have officially confirmed.
The Belgian international ended last evening’s game against Rayo Vallecano with discomfort. Tests carried out today at the club facilities have revealed a muscle problem.
“Following tests carried out today on our player Thibaut Courtois by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the adductor longus muscle in his right leg. His recovery will be monitored,” the club statement read.

The statement from Real Madrid does not specify a recovery timeline for their ace goalkeeper.
However, according to journalist Melchor Ruiz of COPE, the expectation is that Courtois will be out of action for a period of two weeks.
It would mean that the goalkeeper will not be linking up with the Belgian national team for their upcoming matches against Kazakhstan and Liechtenstein.
As things stand, the hope at Real Madrid is that they can recover Courtois in time for their next La Liga game after the international break against Elche.
Courtois becomes the latest player to fall prey to injury at Real Madrid, joining Dani Carvajal, Aurelien Tchouameni, Franco Mastantuono, Valverde, and Antonio Rudiger on the sidelines.
