Liverpool returned to losing ways with a very poor Premier League defeat at title contenders Manchester City on Sunday afternoon. Erling Haaland, Nico Gonzalez and Jeremy Doku all netted for the home team as Arne Slot's side slumped to dreary 3-0 reverse against Pep Guardiola's side.
The result means the Reds have now dropped to eighth place in the Premier League and stand eight points adrift of runaway leaders Arsenal after only 11 games.
But there was plenty that went unnoticed or under the radar during the 90 minutes at the Etihad...

Unhappy Dias
There was an awful lot for Liverpool to be upset about at the Etihad before they began to consider the rubbishness of much of their own performance. And most of it revolved around the decisions of referee Chris Kavanagh and his fellow officials.
One of those was the award of City's penalty - ultimately missed by Haaland - after Giorgi Mamardashvili was adjudged to have downed Doku after a lengthy pitchside monitor review.
Cue Ruben Dias having a go at Virgil van Dijk before the ever-cheerful Bernardo Silva became involved in a running argument with Ibrahima Konate as he attempted to protect the penalty spot. Grow up.
Milos moan
The grumbles from Liverpool, though, were usually confined between themselves, with the number of flailing arms behind waved and cross words being shouted reflecting the frustration at their display.
And it was never more obvious than when Milos Kerkez, with practically his first touch after coming on as substitute, aimlessly booted the ball straight through to City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Cue Dominik Szoboszlai turning to his team-mate across the pitch, shouting an angry message and then looking to the skies. One of those days, Dom.
Hugo not boss
Everyone makes mistakes. Some, though, are funnier than others, and that was certainly the case at the Etihad on Sunday.
Before the game started, the screens inside the Etihad appeared to announce a new Liverpool signing at number 22, the French-Scottish international Hugo Robertson.
And then there was the unifying sight of an assistant referee falling on his backside in the slippery conditions during the first half. Altogether now: "Wahey!"
Haier, Manchester!
City rolled out some big guns pitchside before the game, with comedian Jason Manford being interviewed for the official club channel before it was the turn of two members of the band Doves to be grilled.
But those driving towards the Etihad down the Mancunian Way were greeted by a somewhat different sight.
Emblazoned on both sides of the road on advertising screens were Virgil van Dijk, Alisson Becker and Curtis Jones promoting Liverpool sponsorship partners Haier. Which is nice.
