Real Madrid set €150 million asking price for forward amid tensions with Xabi Alonso – report

After a slow start, Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr. did well to catch up and for a time, it was looking as if he had finally found the right amount of connection with Kylian Mbappe.

However, that has gone down the drain in recent weeks, with Vinicius failing to get himself involved in a single goal in any of Real Madrid’s last six competitive matches.

This is coupled with the forward’s growing rift with coach Xabi Alonso and the failure to negotiate a new deal with Real Madrid.

Real Madrid set asking price for Vinicius

According to Sacha Tavolieri on Sky Sports, Real Madrid are now willing to listen to offers for Vinicius starting in the summer of 2026 after the club’s failure to negotiate a contract extension with the Brazilian.

The report adds that Real Madrid have, therefore, set a price tag of €150 million for the explosive winger, whose form has fallen off a cliff ever since the snub at the 2024 Ballon d’Or awards.

Moreover, the tension between Vinicius and Alonso has reached a point where it will be hard for the attacker to remain at Santiago Bernabeu.

The most likely scenario, therefore, would see Real Madrid receiving offers from Saudi Arabia in the summer of 2026, though it remains to be seen whether or not they are willing to meet Real Madrid’s hefty asking price.

Once an agreement has been reached between Real Madrid and Saudi Arabia, Vinicius might be free to choose any club he desires from the Saudi Pro League.

Given the massive asking price set by Real Madrid, English clubs have so far backed out from making a move. But they remain interested in the forward’s situation without revealing much about their desire to make a move for the forward next summer.
