TreVeyon Henderson Just Achieved Feat Not Seen By Patriots Since 2007

The New England Patriots achieved a 28-23 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road in Week 10, giving the Pats an 8-2 record on the season. One of New England’s brightest stars in Tampa was rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson, who showed off his blazing speed on two epic touchdown runs of 55 and 69 yards. With these two big plays, Henderson became the first Patriots player to record multiple 50+ yard runs in a single game since Laurence Maroney did so on December 23, 2007, against the Miami Dolphins. Henderson’s two touchdowns, taken together with rookie wide receiver Kyle Williams’s 72-yard touchdown catch, created an historically-relevant moment in the NFL. Per CBS, there has only been one prior instance in league history of a team having three 50+ yard scrimmage touchdowns in a single game by rookies. Fittingly, the other instance happened when former Patriots superstar receiver Randy Moss was an electric rookie for the Minnesota Vikings.
