Thanks to a 4-2 win over Celta Vigo and Real Madrid’s goalless draw with Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, Barcelona are heading into the November international break as the league’s highest scorer with 32 goals in 12 matches.
However, the tally from the Catalan club could have been significantly higher had it not been for their poor luck, especially when it comes to always hitting the bar.
Barcelona lead Europe in hitting the woodwork
As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Barcelonave have hit the post 15 times this season, a statistic that puts them at the top of the five major European leagues.
The bad luck is spread across both competitions, with 12 shots hitting the post in La Liga and 3 in the Champions League.
This bad luck is the only thing slowing down an otherwise potent attack. The 15 shots are distributed among a wide variety of players.

Ferran Torres has been the most punished, leading this unlucky ranking with four shots off the woodwork.
He is followed by Raphinha, Fermin, Lamine Yamal, and Marcus Rashford with two apiece. Lewandowski, Dani Olmo, and Eric Garcia complete the list with one each.
The trend has been particularly noticeable in recent games. Flick’s team hit the post three times in the Champions League draw at Club Brugge, and twice more in the latest win at Celta Vigo.
Despite this misfortune, the high number of near-misses is also a positive sign, proving that Barça continues to create a high volume of chances.
Improving the conversion rate after the international break could be one of the targets for Flick’s men as they look to roar back into form.
