Both groups of girls, one from South Failsworth and the other from St Andrew’s were selected to receive tickets thanks to their hard work in school, as well as their love for football.

South Failsworth’s cohort, who also recently received a similar surprise from former City and England forward Ellen White, along with tickets to watch the Lionesses, attended a training session at the City Football Academy.

They met players after the session and were handed tickets to both the match and our Blue Carpet Experience at the Etihad Stadium.

The group from St Andrew’s, meanwhile, were visited by City’s Director of Football, Therese Sjogran, during one of their CITC sessions and surprised with tickets to our clash with Manchester United.

City Primary Schools is an initiative provided to five schools per week across Greater Manchester, with CITC coaches delivering a full day each week of the academic year.

It not only aims to help primary school children be active and develop essential life skills but also improve teachers’ confidence and competency when delivering PE and school sport.
