After a strong rookie year, the Jacksonville Jaguars had some high expectations for Cam Little in the 2025 season. In the preseason, he made sure everyone knew his name after kicking a 70-yard bomb, and made it look easy to boot. Of course, preseason stats don't go into the record books, but the attempt got people talking all the same.
Initially, the sophomore kicker brought some stability to the position, though he eventually began to struggle. He missed one field goal against the Houston Texans in Week 2 and then missed another one against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3. By Week 6, it looked like he might be having some serious problems, missing both a field goal and an extra point.
However, Little came back stronger than ever after the BYE. Head coach Liam Coen insisted the Jaguars still had faith in him, and Little rewarded that faith by breaking the all-time NFL record with a 68-yard field goal last week against the Las Vegas Raiders. His performance against the Houston Texans proved that he's back with a vengeance.
Cam Little continues to prove the Jacksonville Jaguars can count on him
During his Week 10 game against the Texans, Little rocked multiple field goals and extra points, including a field goal from 53 yards in the second quarter. Coen's trust in Little obviously paid off, and it was Coen's trust in him that led to Little's historic kick last week.

Now, Little isn't going to make a historic, record-setting kick every single game. But he did prove this week that he's good enough to rely on in important games like this one. Even when the offense is struggling against a strong defense like Houston's, Little proved this week that they just need to get within field goal range, and he'll take care of the rest.
Kickers rarely get the attention that other, flashier positions do; consider just how few kickers have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, for example. Yet countless games come down to a field goal or an extra point. Having a kicker you can rely on is paramount.
For a while, it appeared as if Cam Little may not be that kicker for the Jaguars. But he's rebounded these past weeks and is cementing his place as a key part of Jacksonville's ability to win each week. In close games, Coen knows all he has to do is move it down the field enough to get it in Little's hands, and it will work out.
On a day in which there wasn't much to celebrate, at the Jaguars knew they could count on Cam Little.
