Arne Slot will be eager to welcome Alexander Isak and Alisson back into the fold for Liverpool following the November international break. The Premier League champions have headed into the two-week domestic pause off the back of a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Manchester City.
Goals from Erling Haaland, Nico Gonzalez and Jeremy Doku sealed the points for Pep Guardiola's side. Injury problems have lessened in recent weeks with Ryan Gravenberch returning and Alexis Mac Allister starting three times in the space of seven days, but even they could not stop City.
Further forward, Isak was on the bench for the trip to Etihad Stadium having missed the last six weeks but he did not get on. Alisson, Jeremie Frimpong and Giovanni Leoni are the others injured with varying return dates for the trio.
With all of that being said, The ECHO rounds up the latest Liverpool injury news and the potential return dates for those players still missing.
Alexander Isak
Isak was named in Slot's matchday squad but he was not introduced with a full return for Liverpool expected after the international break. He has also been called up to represent Sweden over the next two weeks.
What Slot said: “For me, he is in the end stage of his rehab,” Slot told Sky Sports. “Had two training sessions with us. Yes, he has trained, but not with the intensity that would have been best for Alex. He is there if he needs to help us.
Potential return date: Nottingham Forest (H) - Saturday, November 22
Alisson Becker
Alisson has missed Liverpool's last eight games with a hamstring injury, but Slot is expecting him to be back after the two-week domestic pause.
What Slot said: "Alisson for sure [after the break], and I expect Jeremie back after the international break as well because we play from November until March! But I don't expect Jeremie to be fully fit for Forest, but with Alisson, we expect this."
Potential return date: Nottingham Forest (H) - Saturday, November 22
Jeremie Frimpong
Slot has been without Frimpong since the 5-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt and he is likely to remain out until December at the earliest.
What Slot said: "Alisson for sure [after the break], and I expect Jeremie back after the international break as well because we play from November until March! But I don't expect Jeremie to be fully fit for Forest, but with Alisson, we expect this."
Giovanni Leoni
Liverpool's other injury absentee is summer signing Leoni with the teenager set to miss a considerable period.
What Slot said: "He is not in a good place because he tore his ACL, which means he will be out around a year. Being so young and coming to a new country and playing so well in your first game, it's very hard to take the positives. But you try to look at that, and that is that he is still so young, and he has so many years still to go after he recovers."
