Leeds United captain Ethan Ampadu has asked fans to continue to show their support, admitting there was a sense of dejection inside the dressing room following the team's performance during Sunday's 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest.
Leeds have lost each of their last three away games, with only three points to show from their four fixtures after the October international break. The win over West Ham is their only victory from the last six matches, which has yielded just four points overall.
As a result, the Whites linger a point above the drop zone with Aston Villa, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool waiting on the other side of the international break. Supporters are well aware of this, with some now questioning Daniel Farke’s position as manager and the team’s ability to avoid relegation.
Ampadu insists that he and his colleagues are applying what they have learnt so far and are trying to correct their errors. He encouraged match-goers to stick with them through what is expected to be a tough Winter schedule.
“We work every day to be so solid and together and organised, compact,” Ampadu told LUTV. “There were a couple of moments where it wasn’t, so we could have stopped things prior to moments before they [Forest] scored.
“I know I have said it over the last few weeks that we are learning a lot and lessons are being learned. We are confident that we are able to show that.
“We’re working so hard every day to try and get positive results. The fans are always amazing and we need them as much as they need us.”

Ampadu described the post-match dressing room mood on Sunday as “deflated” and “dejected” but vowed to press on, with 27 Premier League games left to play. The Wales star believes the international break has come at a good time.
“Tough to take? That’s the feeling we’ve got. As you can imagine, it’s deflated, it’s dejected. But it's a good time over the break to regroup and go again.
“We go again. I said in the previous interview, whether we had won today or lost today, that is what we do. We stick by each other throughout.
“It is a long way to go. We don’t want to have to keep saying this. We know we have got to be a little bit sharper, a little bit brighter in some moments as a collective, and we are going to work on that.
“That five minutes, ten minutes after you just scored, when the emotions are high, you have got to try and get that foot in the game again.
“You have got to try and be solid and we are disappointed with the goal. It is tough and then you give them another boost and the pendulum swings, you go from being on such a high.”
