New York Giants expected to fire Brian Daboll after brutal 2-8 NFL record

The New York Giants are making a drastic change after their poor 2025 NFL season reached another low on Sunday when they fell to 2-8 on the year and saw star rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart removed from the game against the Chicago Bears when he suffered a concussion.

Various NFL insiders, including NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, revealed Monday that the Giants are firing head coach Brian Daboll after New York lost its fourth game this season on the road after leading by 10 or more points. Daboll became the Giants’ coach in 2022 after serving as the offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills from 2018 to 2021.

While the Giants had a great deal of excitement for early portions of the season, including with rookies Dart and running back Cam Skattebo leading the way, injuries have derailed the New York offense en route to their eight losses and most recent four-game losing streak.

The Giants have seen wideout Malik Nabers and Skattebo ruled out for the rest of the NFL season, so New York will likely take its time before hiring a new head coach, but given the franchise’s struggles in recent years fans will need to be swayed to get on board with another new regime.

New York has only reached the playoffs twice in the past 13 years, however, the Giants had won two Super Bowls in the four seasons prior to that.
