The New England Patriots got another huge win on the road in Week 10 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They’re now sitting on a league-best seven-game winning streak.

Afterward, quarterback Drake Maye revealed his thoughts on the “M-V-P” chants he heard at Tampa Bay’s Raymond James Stadium.

“They may be for [Baker Mayfield]. Baker played his butt off. Big fan of Baker’s game, and they’re a good football team,” Maye said.

Maye overcame rainy conditions to put together another strong performance. It started with a short pass to rookie Kyle Williams, who shook off defenders on his way to a 72-yard touchdown.

The QB got into a rhythm after that, and New England scored three more TDs to secure the victory. He finished with 16 completions on 31 attempts for 270 passing yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, adding seven carries for 13 yards.

Like Maye said, Mayfield didn’t do badly himself. He finished with 28 completions on 43 attempts for three touchdowns and no interceptions.

Despite a banged-up receiver corps, Mayfield continued to keep the chains in motion. Rookie Emeka Egbuka had six catches for 115 yards and one touchdown.

Maye is emerging as the favorite to win NFL MVP. With the New York Jets set to visit in Week 11 on “Thursday Night Football,” he must love his chances of strengthening his case for the award.
