New York Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka has been promoted to interim head coach per source after Brian Daboll was fired as head coach on Monday, according to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan. Kafka will have a chance to prove himself in the final seven games of the season for the Giants.

New York has a 2-8 record this season and they will be facing the Green Bay Packers (5-2-1 record) next Sunday. It is going to be interesting to see what kind of coaching job he can do because Kafka has gotten head coaching interviews before in the NFL. If he can excel, maybe he can be the next head coach for the Giants.

A lot of Giants fans approve of Kafka being named the interim head coach in replacing Daboll. This is what some New York fans had to say about him being promoted on Twitter:
Correct choice. Deserves his audition to be the next HC.
Good play caller, likeable demeanor, existing rapport with the quarterback

Correct choice. Give him an audition to maintain continuity with Dart.

Least it’s not Bowen, hopefully he can be fired soon.

First smart decision in years

Couldnt imagine how a Mike Kafka ran offense would transition to a Mike Kafka ran team

One of the reasons why Kafka was probably promoted was because of rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart. He has looked good as a rookie so far. Many people believe that Daboll was fired because of the Dart injury and he also suffered a concussion. Well, if Kafka can’t do anything during these seven games, then everyone will probably get fired at the end of the season.
