Former Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson still feels a huge emotional connection to the club despite joining West Ham.
Wilson is a modern-day Newcastle United legend.
The striker scored 49 goals in 130 games for the club after joining from Bournemouth in 2020, helping keep the team in the Premier League before the PIF takeover.
The 33-year-old’s time at St James’ Park came to an end earlier this summer. Wilson is now scoring goals for West Ham as they look to push up the Premier League table following a dreadful start to the season.
Wilson didn’t score against Newcastle as the Hammers beat Eddie Howe’s side last month, although will get another chance to when the east London club come to St James’ for the penultimate game of the season.
Asked if he would celebrate scoring against the Magpies, Wilson gave an interesting answer.

Callum Wilson will refuse to celebrate if he scores against Newcastle United
On Monday, the Premier League’s official TikTok account posted a video in which they asked a series of players if they would celebrate scoring against their former team.
Wilson was one of them and while he did predict himself to score on Tyneside in May, he assured fans he would not celebrate.
“I wouldn’t do it and, when I score at St James’ Park this year, I won’t celebrate,” he said.

Callum Wilson has never scored against his former club
Over the course of an impressive career that took him from the Football League to the Premier League and beyond, Wilson has played for Coventry, Bournemouth, Newcastle and West Ham.
He has also turned out for Kettering Town and Tamworth, although they weren’t League clubs.
Wilson never scored against Bournemouth for Newcastle, while he never played against Coventry while a Cherries player.
It’s brilliant to see Wilson performing well for West Ham in difficult circumstances. Hopefully, however, he has no reason to even think about celebrating when he returns to St James’ in May.
