The Pittsburgh Steelers couldn’t get anything going against the Los Angeles Chargers in a Week 10 loss. A lot of that had to do with Aaron Rodgers.
The veteran quarterback had been solid for the most part this season. However, that wasn’t the case on “Sunday Night Football.”
That’s why Stephen A. Smith called out Rodgers for his “awful” performance.
“He was awful. It was clearly his worst performance as a Steeler. Three sacks, season-worst 50.6 passer rating. Couldn’t complete a pass. It was underthrown, overthrown, looked jittery in the pocket. Most importantly, looked moody. Didn’t look ‘there,’ if you get what I’m saying. From opening tap, how are you gonna take a sack in the end zone from Khalil Mack? 0-for-5 on passes 15 yards or more downfield. 2-for-11 on third downs? The defense is now better than the offense, and we know how awful the defense has been. I’m very disgusted right now,” Smith said.

This is coming from someone who usually has nothing but positive things to say about Rodgers’ game. Yet, the latest outing was indeed brutal.
Rodgers threw multiple tantrums during the game, often blaming his receivers even when he didn’t throw a good pass. The two interceptions were uncharacteristic, and though the Chargers deserve a lot of credit for disrupting his rhythm, he also missed some throws that he used to make in his sleep.
The Steelers’ lack of playmakers on offense will continue to be a concern as well. Wide receiver D.K. Metcalf has too many disappearing acts in his career, and there’s no other vertical threat on the team.
Pittsburgh signed Rodgers’ former teammate Marquez Valdes-Scantling to help with that, but he’s never been more than a boom-or-bust deep threat. At least, the defense is finally showing signs of life after a slow start to the season, and it’s hard to believe the QB will have another game as bad as this one.
