TEMPE — Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Zay Jones is headed to injured reserve due to a torn Achilles, which ends his 2025 season, head coach Jonathan Gannon said Monday.
Jones went down in the first half of the Cardinals’ 44-22 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
The wide receiver had just been targeted by quarterback Jacoby Brissett in the end zone when the injury occurred. He immediately went down and needed helped off the field.
Jones had put up his best numbers with the Cardinals before going down, recording 12 catches (18 targets) for 183 yards. He averaged 15.3 yards per reception. Only Michael Wilson (15.4) has averaged more for Arizona in 2025.
With Jones out for the rest of the season, the Cardinals will look to Xavier Weaver to help fill the void.
Simi Fehoko was another option, but like Jones, he exited Sunday’s game due to injury. He’s dealing with a wrist injury and is expected to miss time, Gannon said.
Cardinals’ Walter Nolen III day to day
Aside from Jones and Fehoko, rookie defensive lineman Walter Nolen III also left Sunday’s loss. The rookie picked up a knee injury late and did not return. He recorded two tackles before exiting.
Darius Robinson left the game with a groin issue suffered Sunday. He finished with four tackles.
Same went for safety Dadrion “Rabbit” Taylor-Demerson (ankle), offensive lineman Jonah Williams (shoulder) and running back Bam Knight (ankle).
Gannon said these players who left Sunday’s game are still being evaluated.
