NBA local DTC pricing 2025-2026
Getting local games to fans where they are watching TV has been paramount for leagues such as the NBA -- and that means beefing up local, direct-to-consumer viewing options.
Last season, roughly 15% of the league’s local broadcast audience watched through DTC streaming apps, a significant gain that analysts expect to multiply again this season, per data from Playfly Insights [cited by my colleague Tom Friend in SBJ this week](/Articles/2025/11/07/nba-direct-to-consumer-viewership-reaching-new-heights/?issueId=QBGTGPPGE5HFBDR3JPQEYEJKDQ).
Sources familiar with league metrics told Friend they are seeing overall consumption of local NBA broadcasts now at roughly 30% through streaming, and that will likely rise soon to 50%.
Last season, 20 of the 30 teams had DTC apps at the start, and 29 of 30 teams have them now (the Rockets are the outlier).
