Mosaic and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers partner up to ‘Tackle Hunger’

TAMPA, Fla. (WWSB) - Here at ABC7, one of our core initiatives is fighting hunger and food insecurity in the Suncoast community. We do this through partnering with organizations such as All Faith’s Food Bank and Meals on Wheels Plus of Manatee.

Another local organization, the Mosaic Company is doing this too. We first told you about a partnership they had with the Tampa Bay Rays called ‘Runs for Food.’ Now, they are partnering with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to “Tackle Hunger’ all in efforts to combat food insecurity in the Tampa Bay region and Suncoast communities.

“A lot of our partnerships in the region really try to combat food insecurity,” Sarah Fedorchuk, the Vice President of Government and Public Affairs at the Mosaic Company, said. “Whether that’s elementary school kids, whether it’s with the elderly and homebound, with Meals on Wheels.”

Together, the organizations donated one meal to Feeding Tampa Bay for every fan that was in attendance, totaling 131,684 meals, with 65,842 contributed by each partner.

Fedorchuk went on to speak further about the importance of establishing partnerships like the one that Mosaic has with the Bucs.

“When we do a partnership like we have with the Buccaneers, or the Rays, or the Lightning, we want to ensure that there’s always kind of a give back as well,” Fedorchuk said. “The partnerships and sponsorships are amazing. We also want to make sure that we highlight the struggle that so many in our region have.”

We will keep you updated on any further sponsorships that the Mosaic Company has coming up with any more of our professional teams in the Tampa Bay and Suncoast communities.
