Ex-Steelers players says Steelers will regret passing on Jaxson Dart

Former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko believes that the team will regret passing on ascending Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Steelers passed on Dart to take defensive tackle Derrick Harmon, who has stacked multiple good games on top of one another. He is near the top of the leaderboard among rookies in pressures, sacks, and tackles for loss despite missing two games.

Even still, Dart has taken hold of the Giants quarterback situation and stabilized their quarterback situation despite the dismissal of Giants head coach Brian Daboll on Monday.

He has shown moxie, athleticism, and accuracy that has many people dubbing him as a potential franchise quarterback for the Big Blue. Fehoko believes the Steelers will regret not landing their franchise quarterback.

“I really think the Steelers should’ve took Jaxson Dart at 21 even knowing Aaron was still coming,” Fehoko posted on X. “It would’ve been huge to let him learn under a HOF Qb for a year.”

The Steelers knew Aaron Rodgers was coming and did not like anyone coming out of the 2025 NFL Draft enough to take them at 21, but if Dart’s play continues to impress, it ca be argued they potentially should have. If he becomes a franchise quarterback, the team will have to look hard at what went wrong in that evaluation.
