Indiana Pacers Injury Report: Positive update for T.J. McConnell as he nears return

One day after Rick Carlisle gave an update that T.J. McConnell was getting closer to a return before the Indiana Pacers blowout loss to the Warriors, their backup point guard has been upgraded to questionable for tomorrow’s game against the Utah Jazz. The Pacers injury report is slowly shrinking.

McConnell has yet to play this season after injuring his hamstring in the team’s preseason opener a little over a month ago. Now that Jeremiah Robinson-Earl’s 10-day hardship contract has concluded, McConnell would be eligible to return to action if he’s ready to go tomorrow night.

Injury Report for tomorrow’s game against the Jazz:

McConnell will look to become the latest Pacers point guard to end a prolonged absence as Andrew Nembhard returned this weekend and the team signed Monte Morris after he was originally going to join the team before training camp if not for dealing with a calf strain at the time. The Pacers may soon have their planned point guard rotation for this season without Tyrese Haliburton all available at the same time.

Aaron Nesmith and Pascal Siakam are both off the injury report but there are still at least six players that will be out: Bennedict Mathurin, Johnny Furphy, Obi Toppin, Kam Jones, Quenton Jackson, and of course Tyrese Haliburton. Taelon Peter is questionable for the third straight game.

At 1-9 and the NBA’s worst record, the Pacers could certainly use some good news. Our live postgame show has descended into pure chaos with this unfortunate start to the season.

Pacers are 1-9. They have NBA’s worst eFG% and TS% by wide margins. 9 players were OUT.
