We're 10 weeks into the season and the Philadelphia Eagles are officially the no. 1 seed in the NFC after [beating the Green Bay Packers](https://insidetheiggles.com/3-winners-and-2-losers-from-eagles-defensive-battle-win-over-packers) on _Monday Night Football_. It wasn't pretty, and in fact, it was somewhat of a snooze fest at times.
But, that doesn't matter. What matters is, the Eagles won, and even _ESPN_ color commentator and Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman agrees.
"It's not about style points, it's never really been about that ... I like the grit that they've shown even though it doesn't always look pretty," Aikman said on the live broadcast following the game.
Yes, this was in fact the former Dallas Cowboys' quarterback's reaction to the Eagles victory at Lambeau. Believe it or not, a Cowboys legend said something positive about Philly. Not only that, but he said exactly what true Eagles fans have been shouting from the rooftops, pretty much, all season.
Troy Aikman understands that it's legitimately the Philadelphia Eagles vs. everybody

Listen, people throw this type of sentiment out there all the time with no regard; so much so, that it sort of dumbs down the dramatic factor of the entire phrase altogether.
But, Eagles fans know this all too well. Whether we're having the Tush Push conversation or the argument that Jalen Hurts supposedly isn't a very good passer, the Eagles have their fair share of criticism (or unfair, for that matter).
Yet, through it all, this [Eagles team keeps winning](https://www.nfl.com/news/jalen-hurts-eagles-offense-aim-to-maintain-momentum-out-of-bye-week). They are the defending Super Bowl champions for a reason, and they continue to show it, still, a season after hoisting the Lombardi trophy.
The Eagles can play a physical, ugly, downright nasty brand of football. On most days, that's who they are. On most days, it _isn't_ pretty. But, as Aikman said, they have that grit factor about them.
They have the "me against the world" mentality thanks, largely in part, due to their head coach, Nick Sirianni, who has embodied that tone for quite some time.
It's never been about style points (side note: someone needs to tell A.J. Brown this on a weekly basis).
But what it is about, is merely winning football games. Every Eagles fan knows it. And every Eagles fan, whether they're still somewhat frustrated for one reason or another, will come to that conclusion in the end.
It doesn't have to be pretty. It doesn't have to look nice and uniform all the time -- in fact, it rarely does in Philly.
All that matters is the win.
