NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Tennessee Titans return from the bye week with a 1-8 record.
Their offense has been a big reason for their struggles.
Through nine games, the Titans are last in the NFL in total yards per game and last in the league in points per game.
Interim coach Mike McCoy said he spent some time this past week seeing ways they can improve that phase of the game.

“There are a couple of things that I looked at and I said, ‘Hey, let’s kind of stay away from a couple of these concepts,’” said McCoy. “Maybe we’re not having the success. Let’s run more of something else that is a higher completion percentage that we have more success with.’ So there’s always that every year when you get to the point, there are things you look back and say, ‘God, this was—this used to be, but it’s players.’ And sometimes you look at it and you say, you had a certain—just say for example a certain route concept that you might’ve had that guy that was really good at that route where it was nine of 10 in the pass and all of a sudden you have a different person in that position and that may not be what he does best and you’ve asked him to do it a couple of times. And so you always look at that, too, sometimes of it’s great to have that time off to really take a deep breath and look at it and say, ‘Okay, why are these things not working and how do we improve it? Do we have a formation in different, or are we better off just— we’re not getting the looks that we want for that play.’ So you run something different."
The Titans host the Houston Texans on Sunday at noon.
In their last meeting in September, the Titans didn’t score a single point and lost 26-0.
