FC Midtjylland manager Mike Tullberg has ruled out a January departure for Franculino Dju amid links to Everton.

Dju has been on fire for Midtjylland this season, and netted again on Sunday in a 2-0 victory over Randers.

As a result, he now has 19 goals in 26 matches in all competitions, including 14 in 14 matches in the Danish Superliga.

Everton have been heavily linked with Dju, but now a potential move in the winter transfer window appears to be off.

Mike Tullberg: Franculino Dju is staying at FC Midtjylland until the end of the season

Dju is one of the most in-form strikers in Europe right now.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

Even outside of the Danish Superliga, the 21-year-old is finding the net, with Dju being praised after scoring in the 3-1 win over Celtic in the Europa League last week.

As a result, scouts from Everton and Bayern Munich have been watching the striker ahead of a potential move.

However, Tullberg has come out fighting when addressing the rumours on 9 November to TV 2 Sport.

When asked if Dju was staying until the end of the season, the FC Midtjylland manager said: “Yes, he is.”

Therefore, it seems like Everton will miss out on the transfer in the winter window if the Danish side are unwilling to sell.

As a result, David Moyes must quickly move onto other targets.

Everton at risk of relegation without a new striker

It has become clear this season that Everton’s current set of strikers are woeful.

Therefore, if a new attacker is not brought in in January, they are running the risk of relegation.

Multiple teams around the Toffees will no doubt improve in the winter window in hopes of pushing up the Premier League table.

If Moyes does not follow, he could end up pulling the Merseyside club into a relegation battle, something that simply has to be avoided given the squad he has at his disposal.
