Barcelona have taken a proactive approach to protect one of their brightest young talents, Lamine Yamal, after concerns arose regarding his pubalgia discomfort.
According to a report from SPORT, the club recently welcomed surgeon Ernest Schilders to their facilities to conduct a detailed evaluation of the winger’s condition.
Schilders, recognised worldwide as a leading specialist in hip and groin injuries, arrived in Barcelona during the early hours of November 10.
He met with club doctor Ricard Pruna at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, where he carried out a full assessment.
The decision to involve Schilders came after the medical staff identified early signs of inflammation, prompting Barcelona to consult an international expert in the field.

The club’s decision to seek an additional medical opinion was a preventive step aimed at ensuring his long-term fitness, especially given his growing importance to the team.

Following Schilders’ analysis, the results were described as positive and reassuring. The examination confirmed that Yamal’s inflammation is still in its earliest stage, meaning that the situation is under control and not considered serious.
The surgeon also underlined the importance of identifying such cases quickly, since early treatment significantly reduces the risk of the condition worsening.
Barcelona’s medical department was also commended for acting at the right moment, implementing proper rehabilitation and physiotherapy routines to keep the teenager in top shape.
Lastly, it is important to note that while the club has not announced any surgical procedures or special treatments, the visit was purely routine and preventive, serving as a way to guarantee that Yamal continues progressing without setbacks.
