Denver Broncos linebacker Alex Singleton revealed Monday that he underwent surgery for testicular cancer just one day after playing in a game last week.
Singleton, a 31-year-old in his seventh NFL season and his fourth with Denver, said he received the diagnosis the Monday before. With his surgery scheduled for Friday and the Broncos set to face the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday night, Singleton elected to compete with his teammates before having a cancerous tumor removed in what he described as a “whirlwind” week.
