Matt LaFleur responded to the pressure being placed on him after the Green Bay Packers' latest loss.

The Packers fell 10-7 to the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football in a bitterly disappointing defeat. For most of the night, the two sides were locked in a defensive battle, with the score knotted a 0-0 after 30 minutes of game action at Lambeau Field.

So jarring were the first two quarters of play that commentators Joe Buck and Troy Aikman took a moment to recall the last time they had seen a game go scoreless in the first half. In the end, the Eagles won 10-7, which led reporters to wonder if LaFleur was coaching to save his career.

"I'll leave that for everybody else to decide," LaFleur began to reporters after the loss to the Eagles. I'll just focus on the day-to-day and trying to do, I feel like you're always coaching for everything in this league. You know?

"That's just my mindset. It's always been that way. You know, you can't ever exhale. You've got to always be pushing, and that's just my mindset, so, and that will be my mindset until they tell me not to coach anymore."

As the head coach shared his thoughts on the game and his job security in Green Bay following the loss, many Packers fans took to X to call for the 46-year-old's job. "Fire Lafleur. We have incredible talent on offense. We are only giving up 10 points to last year’s superbowl winning team, and we still lose that game," a fan wrote.

Another added: "What bit dude, fire MLF and extend Love. Why did LaFleur call the sack fumble play in Philly territory with the chance to take the lead?" A third posted: "PLEASE fire Matt Lafleur The grass aint always greener."

Amid the calls for LaFleur to be fired, other fans believed that the head coach is doing what he can with the cards he's dealt, especially with so many offensive pieces out due to various injuries. "You can’t fire a guy down Reed, Kraft, Golden, who lost Doubs in the 4th and an OL tonight. It’s not a LaFleur issue and they’re smart enough to keep him," a fan noted.

A fifth fan agreed with the sentiment that Green Bay should keep LaFleur, writing: "If we fire LaFleur, this franchise won't recover for years."

The Packers' loss to the Eagles marked the second straight for Green Bay. Despite the Packers seemingly trending in the wrong direction, LaFleur downplayed any locker room concerns that might arise as Green Bay attempts to turn its season around.

"Yeah, I'm not worried about that. We've got the right guys in the locker room. I'm absolutely not at all concerned about that," he said when asked if the locker room could be showing signs of friction or fracturing.

"We just have to find a way to win a football game. And we've got to start by playing really good, complementary football, which unfortunately we haven't done. I feel like we've wasted a few performances, really, you know, championship-level defensive performances and haven't been able to score enough points."

The Packers will be back in action against the Giants as Green Bay looks to right the ship against a floundering New York squad.
