The Green Bay Packers’ offense was a pain to watch on Monday against the visiting Philadelphia Eagles at Lambeau Field. The reigning Super Bowl champions’ attack had a hard time as well in finding its groove, as the Packers’ defense did its job. But at the end of the day, it was Philadelphia, which came out on top, 10-7. Green Bay went scoreless in the first three quarters.
Green Bay’s tough night on offense made injured star tight end Tucker Kraft an even more missed figure for the Packers.
Kraft suffered a season-ending injury in Week 9’s 16-13 loss to the Carolina Panthers at home, an undeniably big loss for Green Bay, as Kraft was the most productive and best downfield target for quarterback Jordan Love. Against the Eagles, Love went just 20-of-36 for 176 passing yards and zero touchdowns.
As a team, Green Bay moved the ball for just 261 total yards, while going only 5-for-13 on third downs. Without Kraft, who was such a huge and dependable target when the Packers needed someone to extend plays and drives, the task of containing Green Bay’s attack became an easier task for the Eagles.
Love sounds off on orchestrating Packers’ offense minus Kraft
The Packers look like they have a lot of issues to figure out on offense based on their performance against Philadelphia.
Love knows not having Kraft around makes it a bigger challenge for Green Bay to put together positive drives, but he’s not making it an excuse either.
“No matter who you’re talking about, you have to be able to overcome injuries, Love said of playing without Kraft, per Jason B. Hirschhorn of The Leap. “We’ll do more 11 personnel and not have as many 12 personnel sets or 13 personnel. It all comes back to finding ways to attack the defense.”
targets, while Dontayvion Wicks had 34 receiving yards on four receptions and eight targets.
Meanwhile, running back Josh Jacobs had 74 rushing yards while scoring the only Green Bay touchdown of the contest on 21 carries.
