The Catalan club and the super-agent share a strong relationship, and the fact that the 22-year-old has shifted his representation could indicate an intention to extend his current contract, which runs until 2028.
Casado broke into the first team at the beginning of last season when Hansi Flick was short of pivot options. Frenkie de Jong was still recovering from an ankle problem, while Marc Bernal had suffered an ACL injury.
The 22-year-old made himself indispensable in the first half of the 2024/25 season, but once Frenkie returned to his best level, he began to bench Casado. This, coupled with a long injury, saw the Spaniard lose prominence.
Now, with Pedri’s latest injury, Casado is getting more opportunities in Flick’s team. A new deal could be on the cards, and we will have to wait and see how negotiations pan out between the former Barça Atlètic captain and Deco.
