**Since the arrival of Nuno, Bowen and Summerville have been crucial towards his tactics, but why is that?**
Once Nuno arrived, it was commonly understood what style of play would be used within the squad, defensive, the same as Graham Potter, but with a more controlled aspect when the players understood where to be and a registered attacking style which all players could understand.
Something which was significantly missed under Potter.
Nuno’s swift counter-attacking style of play has been put into place which has subsequently seen Summerville and Bowen excel, as it utilises their strengths of pace, clinical deliveries or overall a general finishing ability.
Summerville’s burst of pace was utilised numerous times against Burnley and a handful of chances were created by him, one of which was his burst in on goal, which led to the corner, resulting in Soucek scoring from it.
Whilst Bowen went slightly unnoticed against Burnley which raised an eyebrow to some, he was unlucky not to score, but this was also due to the number of bodies marking it, it allowed either Soucek or Summerville to slip in behind and have a shot on goal or create a chance.
Nuno’s started to utilise the fear other teams have of Jarrod Bowen and because of the overcompensation, we’re therefore able to excel in other areas. It’s a very clever strategy that he’s only implemented across the past two matches, which have led to us scoring 6 in 2.
This style of play will obviously have some blips, as every tactic does with every club, but it’s certainly more successful than what we’ve previously been playing with. The future looks hopeful.
