Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah is set to be a last-minute addition to Thomas Tuchel's England squad, replacing the injured Marc Guehi, Mirror Sport understands.
The 26-year-old defender has been a key player for Enzo Maresca this season, starting 10 out of 11 Premier League matches, with suspension being the only reason for his absence in one game.
Chalobah has contributed to Chelsea's impressive defensive record, keeping clean sheets in half of his league appearances this term.
His performance have caught the attention of his former Chelsea boss Tuchel, who plans to include Chalobah in the Three Lions' World Cup qualifiers against Serbia on Thursday evening and Albania on Sunday.
Guehi, who was absent from Crystal Palace's draw with Brighton due to injury, has now pulled out of the squad, reports football london. The Palace captain is currently walking on crutches, according to Oliver Glasner, after picking up an injury in the Eagles' 3-1 victory against AZ Alkmaar in the Conference League on Thursday.
"He can't even walk at the moment so the last two days he was on crutches," Glasner said at the weekend. "That's why he can't play. I don't know how this develops over the next couple of days. At the moment, it looks like he can't play for England as well."
Chalobah will join Reece James as the two Chelsea representatives in the latest England camp, with the World Cup just seven months away.
Tuchel's team secured their spot in the 2026 tournament after a resounding 5-0 victory over Latvia last month. Chalobah, who made his senior England debut in June against Senegal, is hopeful of making the squad next summer.

The Cobham graduate was brought back from his loan spell at Crystal Palace in January following a defensive injury crisis at Stamford Bridge. Since then, Chalobah has remained central to Maresca's plans - with the defender appearing in 38 of Chelsea's 50 fixtures across all competitions following his return to the club.
Despite being sidelined from first-team consideration during the summer of 2024, Chalobah made his way back into the squad and thrived throughout the rest of the 24/25 season.
The centre-half played a crucial role in the Blues' late-season achievements, according to Maresca, who has consistently praised Chalobah's contribution in SW6.
"Since he came back in January, he's doing very well," the Chelsea head coach said. The reason why we achieved what we achieved last season is also because of Trev. In the final against PSG in the Club World Cup, he was top and he is doing very well and we are happy with him."
