Triple transpennine win for Leeds PR and events specialist

Leeds PR and events specialist Pink Gorilla Hairy Lemon (PGHL) has added a trio of new clients to its portfolio.

The agency has been appointed by Leeds United Football Club, Manchester-based Federal Café and Leeds HQ’d national grocery retailer Asda.

Leeds United has appointed PGHL to manage a media relations and influencer campaign for its new collection of hospitality suites and corporate entertaining spaces at Elland Road.

The suites comprise the LUFC 1919 Suite, The Gary Speed Suite, Peter Lorimer Steakhouse and The Hisense Leeds Lounge and were revealed to guests and fans for the club’s return to the Premier League. Each is designed to enhance the club’s hospitality offer for matchday entertainment as well as private hire and corporate events.

Federal Café, which was founded in Manchester in 2014 has appointed the team to launch its first store outside of the city, which will open in Leeds in November. Inspired by Kiwi and Aussie neighbourhood cafés, Federal has built a reputation for serving exceptional coffee and standout brunch dishes. PGHL will be managing media relations, influencer strategy and launch event for the brand.

PGHL will also be working with Asda to support the debut of its new George store in Hull. The launch comes after Asda trialled a rebrand of its Asda Living store in Leeds to a new George concept store.

The Leeds launch, also managed by PGHL, was so successful that the concept is now being rolled out to select stores across the UK. The Hull store is the first in the next phase of the re-brand and will be completely transformed with a new layout to showcase the best of the George Home and George clothing ranges, alongside key essentials, baby and toys, and general merchandise.

Head of PR at George at Asda, Naomi Dobson, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Pink Gorilla Hairy Lemon on the launch of our new George store in Hull. Their creative approach and strong understanding of both retail and lifestyle audiences make them the perfect partner to help bring this exciting new concept to life.”

PGHL has been briefed to manage media relations, influencer collaborations and brand activation for the relaunch. The agency will also manage a celebrity and influencer event to mark the store’s grand reopening this week.

PGHL director, Jordan Odu, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be partnering with three such iconic and ambitious brands. Each of these projects allows us to showcase our creativity, energy and expertise in the hospitality and retail sectors. We’ll be bringing together smart PR and creative brand storytelling to make a real impact, and we can’t wait to get started.”
