Estupinan could be heading back to Premier League months after Brighton exit

Brighton sold Pervis Estupinan to AC Milan in the summer transfer window.

The negotiations went smoothly, as the left-back fetched the Seagulls €17m plus potential bonuses.

While there was initially excitement about the left-back in Italy, it has faded away. He made a major error in Milan’s 2-2 draw against Parma. Generally, he’s struggled to make a mark. Youngster Davide Bartesaghi has looked like a much better option at left-back.

There is now the possibility of Estupinan leaving Milan less than a year after his arrival from Brighton. MilanLive report that the 27-year-old can depart San Siro in January. He still has a market in England, with the suggestion his good performances for Brighton could facilitate a Premier League return.

Atletico Madrid are also named as a potential suitor. The outlet believe that the Spanish side can offer Matteo Ruggeri in a swap deal. Los Rojiblancos also tried to sign the full-back in the summer but a move never went through.
