Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi has reported for England duty, despite having an ankle injury.

Guehi, who missed Palace’s draw with rivals Brighton on Sunday, is currently on crutches after taking a heavy blow to his ankle at the end of their Conference League win over AZ Alkmaar last Thursday.

However, England have not sent the 25-year-old back to Palace and will instead continue to assess him over the next few days.

The 25-year-old has started three of England’s last four matches but is likely to miss their final competitive fixtures ahead of next summer’s World Cup in the United States. There are, however, four friendlies expected before Thomas Tuchel’s side travel Stateside in June 2026.

Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah has been added to the squad for the pair of fixtures against Serbia and Albania.

Palace boss Oliver Glasner told reporters on Sunday: "The bruise didn't look so bad against AZ, but he was sleepless on Thursday night.

"He was walking on crutches the last two days and couldn't even step on his foot. Fortunately nothing is broken.

"We had huge concerns that he had a fracture, but we did a scan, and it was a heavy bone bruise.

"It looks like he will miss England's games, but after 10-14 days hopefully he can return to training and be available again."
