Green Bay Packers legend and Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre also had something to say about the firing of New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll.
The end of Daboll’s time as head coach of the Giants wasn’t exactly something that only a few saw coming. After going 9-7-1 in Daboll’s first year as the team’s coach in 2022 to make the NFL playoffs, the Giants failed to have a winning season under him. The Giants went 6-11 in 2023, 3-14 in 2024 and 2-8 in 2025 before handing Daboll his walking papers.
The final straw appears to be New York’s 24-20 loss to the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on Sunday, in which the Giants blew a 10-point lead in the second half and a three-point advantage with just under four minutes in the final period.

On Tuesday, Favre said via a post on social media that the Giants have a good one in rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart.
“I think New York has something with Jaxon Dart,” Favre wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “They probably would’ve won yesterday if he didn’t get hurt and they’d give Daboll a little longer,” added the three-time All-Pro.
Dart, who suffered a concussion in the Bears game, has been a bright spot for the Giants this season. Selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, the former Ole Miss Rebels star signal-caller has 1,417 passing yards and 10 touchdowns with three interceptions so far in his rookie NFL campaign.
