**[ExWHUEmployee](https://www.thewesthamway.com/2025/11/10/permission-exwhuemployee-fullkrug-west-ham-future-update/) has sparked debate within the West Ham fanbase as he revealed ‘the club will allow striker Niclas Füllkrug to depart east London in the January transfer window’.**
It comes to no surprise to a lot of Hammers fans that Füllkrug will likely be leaving West Ham this summer. The big German has made just 24 appearances in sixteen months, scoring just three goals in that time. It has been yet another awful striker signing for West Ham.
“West Ham have given Niclas Füllkrug’s agent permission to find the German international a new club in the January transfer window,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon.
“It’s fair to say the transfer has been another major disappointing attempt to find the club a proven regular Premier League goalscorer. His time at the club has been completely disrupted by injuries.”
The £27m signing has been nothing short of a complete waste of money adding to the huge list of West Ham striker flops. Paying that much for a striker that has always had injury problems, and didn’t start scoring at a top level till late on in his career was ridiculous, and it’s proven to be exactly that.
He’s not fit enough, and to be honest he’s not good enough either. I’m unsure how much money we will be able to recoup from his sale, but he has to go, whether that’s on a permanent or on loan. If he goes out on loan and smashes it, the club will no doubt want to sign him, so we may be able to get at around £8-10m for him, if we can’t get that this month.
Ex said: “There are a number of clubs who are said to be considering a move, many from his home country (Germany) and a few from the likes of Italy, with Italian giants Milan supposedly one of the clubs looking at him.”
A move back to Germany or a slower league like Serie A in Italy would really suit the German striker, he definitely isn’t a bad player, he can score goals in a system and style of football that suits him, but he’s never going to get that at West Ham. The Hammers need to replace the German with someone with better availability and that fits Nuno’s counterattacking style.
