With the international break now in full swing, the transfer rumour mill likewise spins to full speed.

A total of 20 Liverpool players will represent their countries during the November international break, including 15 senior internationals, as the race to reach next year’s World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico nears its conclusion.

Of course, the break also comes as a breather period for Arne Slot, with the 3-0 defeat to Manchester on Sunday representing the Reds’ fifth Premier League defeat in just six matches.

Ibrahima Konate was poor that game, and should he make the switch to Real Madrid next summer, the Reds may already have a potential replacement already lined up.

DaveOCKOP already exclusively revealed Liverpool interest in Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck.

We revealed that the Anfield club had held preliminary discussions with representatives as well.

Dortmund suffered a heavy defeat against Manchester City, losing 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium last week before being held to a 1-1 draw vs Hamburg in the Bundesliga over the past weekend.

Schlotterbeck is not happy with how things are going, claiming that his Dortmund side needs to play “more football “and lamenting manager Niko Kovac’s setup as too “passive” post-Hamburg.

Now German outlet BILD have come out with a fresh report claiming that Schlotterbeck’s future at Borussia Dortmund appears increasingly uncertain as contract extension talks have reached an impasse.

The 25-year-old German international has reportedly rejected Dortmund’s latest offer to extend his deal beyond 2027, raising concerns at the Westfalenstadion.

Behind closed doors, his concerns about Dortmund’s have been echoed more forcefully, with Schlotterbeck reportedly unhappy about Kovac’s defensive setup.

Beyond tactical frustrations, the defender is also weighing his ambitions for silverware and is unhappy that Dortmund are not in a position to compete.

With Dortmund’s trophy prospects looking slim both domestically and in Europe, Schlotterbeck may seek a move to a club where major honours are more attainable.
