Everton are ready to sign another new striker in the upcoming January transfer window.
David Moyes has openly backed Thierno Barry and Beto despite their struggles, with the duo only scoring one Premier League goal between them.
Barry started consecutive Premier League games against Sunderland and Fulham, but missed a golden chance and saw another strike disallowed.
With that in mind, another striker is wanted, with Ivan Toney on the growing list.

Everton want Ivan Toney as striker list grows
Rob Dorsett of Sky Sports has reported that Everton want a striker who is different to Beto and Barry, with Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee another option.

Toney is also joined by Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus on the shortlist, but Mikel Arteta looks highly unlikely to sanction any exits from the Emirates midway through the season.
It seems strange that a different profile is being targeted, yet with Toney and Zirkzee, it could be argued that Moyes would sign someone very similar to what he already has.
Gabriel Jesus and Joshua Zirkzee have major problem
Availability is a footballer’s greatest weapon, and unfortunately for Jesus and Zirkzee, they have massively struggled to either stay fit or simply feature at all in recent years.
Zirkzee was signed for big money from Bologna at Old Trafford, but he has never made a serious impact, and is often left sitting on the bench most weeks in the Premier League.

Before Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo were signed in the summer, Zirkzee made 49 appearances for the Red Devils last season.
The Netherlands international simply failed, only scoring seven goals and delivering two assists in all competitions, nowhere near good enough.
Weirdly enough, Zirkzee has already undergone a trial at Everton in the past, travelling to complete it without permission from his then-club, Feyenoord.
If he wasn’t good enough then, he isn’t now, and it’s clear that Toney, and even Jesus, would be better options to target when the January window opens.
