Everton have been linked with a potential swoop for Brendan Rodgers in recent days, but he could now be in line to replace one former Toffee manager.
Following a turbulent run of form, David Moyes saw his position come under scrutiny by some reports following the draw against Sunderland.
Everton News understands The Friedkin Group are backing Moyes at Everton and not considering a managerial change.
Rodgers has seen his name linked to the Hill Dickinson Stadium on the back of his exit from Celtic.
Everton were able to steady the ship at the weekend with their victory over Fulham, which secured their third consecutive win this season in the game before the international break.
In doing so, Everton have mounted the pressure on former Everton boss Marco Silva, whose side were dominated by the Blues.

After the game on Saturday, Silva admitted Fulham could not cope with Everton who were far more aggressive than the Cottagers.

The result has opened up a four-point gap between the two sides, with Fulham now sitting close to the bottom three.
On Tuesday, Everton News’ transfer correspondent Graeme Bailey has said that Silva’s position is coming under threat, with Rodgers a potential successor.
“Marco Silva’s time at Fulham could be coming to an end, he is out-of-contract at the end of season and pressure is mounting,” Bailey told Everton News.
“Brendan Rodgers’ name was already in the mix, and he could yet end up at Craven Cottage.”
Previous reports suggested that Nottingham Forest eyed Silva to replace Ange Postecoglou just a matter of weeks ago at the City Ground.
The Portuguese manager may now find himself in search of a new club, with Fulham failing to impress this season.
Brendan Rodgers speculation at Everton could soon be ended
It was a story which will have taken a lot of Everton fans by surprise last week, but Rodgers joining Fulham would bring any links to Everton to a close.
“I’ve heard his name for a few teams, but Everton are not one of them. That said if Everton were looking he would no doubt be the calibre of manager they would look at,” Bailey told Everton News last week about the speculation surrounding Rodgers.

Moyes is already making January transfer demands at Everton as he looks to continue the development on Merseyside.
There is a lot of room for improvement at Everton, but the 62-year-old should not be finding his position under threat just yet.
Everton fans did not want Rodgers as their next manager and it looks like they could be about to get their wish granted.
