Another Chelsea player has just withdrawn from international duty this break and follows Enzo Fernandez who withdrew earlier this week.
You can probably actually see this as good news because it means that along with Fernandez, Pedro Neto can now go and rest during this international break.

Football London are reporting that Neto has withdrawn from Roberto Martinez’s Portugal squad for upcoming World Cup qualifiers against the Republic of Ireland and Armenia.
Neto is believed to have picked up the problem during Saturday’s 3-0 win against his former club Wolves at Stamford Bridge.
Maresca said after the game: “Joao Pedro, Neto and Enzo [Fernandez], they asked for a change, Pedro had a problem with his groin and Enzo had a problem with his knee. So we need to see how they are now.”

I don’t think that either of the injuries to either player is that bad and it’s more just common sense to let them rest and recover, so this is why it’s good news for Chelsea.
Both Neto and Fernandez have become important players for Enzo Maresca so it’s important now that they get some time to rest and recover from these small injuries and be ready for the domestic season to commence again.

It’s being claimed that Chelsea actually pay a very high wage bill for their players despite using low base contracts with incentives. The claimer believes that due to the success Chelsea have had on the pitch lately, that their wage bill is actually very high right now. I don’t think this has any weight to it at all, by the way.
Chelsea went up to third place in the Premier League this weekend by beating Wolves 3-0 at Stamford Bridge, and this has set them up to be challenging for top four again this season at the very least, and they might even be dreaming for more. Petit thinks that they should be dreaming for more right now.
