Robert Lewandowski was the star man for Barcelona as they secured a 4-2 victory over Celta Vigo on Sunday – a result that helped them bridge the gap to Real Madrid at the top of the league table.
The performance will be a major confidence booster for Lewandowski, who has endured a difficult start to the season, with his progress being marred by injuries.
The three goals against Celta Vigo take his tally for the season to just seven goals in all competitions. However, in total, Lewandowski has scored an impressive 108 goals for Barcelona.
Closing in on Barcelona’s history books
A tally of 108 goals means Lewandowski is just 20 goals away from entering the top ten of Barcelona’s all-time goalscorers’ list.
It must be noted that Lewandowski has already surpassed the totals of other Barça legends like Neymar, Eulogio Martinez, and Evaristo, who each netted 105 goals.

His current tally of 108 goals places him within striking distance of the club’s all-time top ten. The current mark for entering the top 10 is held by Mariano Martin with 128 goals. This means Lewandowski needs just 20 more goals to break into this elite tier.
With more than three-quarters of the season still to play, 20 goals is a challenging but entirely feasible target for the Polish star. Notably, he has already surpassed this goal total in his three previous seasons at the club.
The hat-trick against Celta Vigo also equalled his best tally in a single Barcelona match, a feat he has achieved in three other matches, including against Valencia and Alaves in La Liga.
Of his 108 goals, 13 have come from penalties, and his most prolific season remains his last, where he scored 42 goals.
It will be interesting to see if Lewandowski continues at Barcelona next season because if he does, the Pole could extend his tally further and start to challenge all the other players inside the top ten.
