Sean Tucker Probably Earning More Touches

November 11th, 2025

Running back Sean Tucker breaks free against New England.

One Bucs offensive player sure made the case that he needs the ball more.

The one thing the Bucs did well on Sunday against the Patriots was run the ball. Rachaad White was OK. He averaged 3.8 yards on 10 carries.

And while Sean Tucker had fewer carries, he made more of an impact.

Tucker had nine carries but he ran for 53 yards, or 5.9 yards a carry.

Yesterday, a reporter implied to Todd Bowles that Tucker has similarities to Bucky Irving and the head coach waved off that suggestion in a hurry. As for getting more carries, Bowles said the hungriest dog on gameday will get more treats.

“I don’t think Tucker is like Bucky at all,” Bowles said. “I think they run differently. I don’t think they’re very similar. I think all three are very different in the way they run the football.

“[Tucker has] gotten a lot more reps and a lot more plays and a lot more blitz pickup, and we’re going to need all of them coming down the stretch.

“So, we’re good where he’s at right now, and the hot hand usually gets more reps.”

One reason why Tucker has not been on the field much is his subpar blocking. Yeah, with so many injuries, keeping Baker Mayfield on two feet is a big point of focus. Understandably so.

But apparently, per Bowles, Tucker has made strides there.

With the passing game the past three weeks currently all effed up, the Bucs might need to lean on the run game more. So if Tucker is having a good game, he may get fed more.

Tucker made a statement on Sunday he should.
