Steven Gerrard could reignite his managerial career as the successor to Rob Edwards at Middlesbrough.
That's according to talkSPORT's Ally McCoist just weeks after Gerrard turned down the opportunity to return to Rangers.

The Liverpool legend looked set to replace Russell Martin at Ibrox but pulled out of talks amid his doubts over the timing of the move.
Gerrard, who won the 2020/21 Scottish Premiership title as Rangers boss, later admitted it felt 'a bit rushed'.
He hasn't been in the dugout since leaving Al Ettifaq in January, but there are opportunities for a comeback in the Championship.
Edwards is set to leave Middlesbrough for Wolves, whilst Norwich City sacked Liam Manning and Southampton dismissed Will Still.

On talkSPORT Breakfast, McCoist was asked if Gerrard would take any of the three jobs in England's second tier.
"I think his next job... He'll get one, I think it's absolutely vital that it's the right one for him," he replied.
"In answer to your question, I don't know at this moment in time which is the better job between Norwich and Southampton. Both of them are in free fall."
McCoist added: "Well, if you're asking me right now which one of the three you're taking, you're taking Middlesbrough all day."
Stelling then asked him if Middlesbrough would be willing to make Gerrard their next manager, with McCoist believing it's a possibility.
"I think they might, you know? I think the might.

"Because the one thing you're going to get, you're going to get a really hungry man that really knows...
"I'm not saying it's a last chance saloon, but it might be the last chance saloon, because he has to get it right.
"Anybody in management is a gamble, complete gamble but Steve Gibson [chairman], who is a very intelligent man, will weigh that up.
"He'd look at Steven and say, you know... Maybe, maybe."
Gerrard's managerial career so far
Following a glittering career as a player, Gerrard began coaching at his beloved Liverpool in their academy.
He joined Rangers in June 2018 and guided them to second in the Scottish Premiership, which he then repeated the following year.

League title glory came at the third time of asking in 2021 in which Rangers won 32 of their 38 fixtures, losing none.
Gerrard left for Aston Villa in November 2021, but spent less than a year at Villa Park before being dismissed amid a poor run of form.
In July 2023, he moved to Al Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League and finished sixth in his first season.
