Drake Thomas has become a significant presence in the Seattle Seahawks‘ defense since stepping into a starting role six games ago. The undrafted linebacker has delivered steady production while earning trust from the coaching staff through consistent performances.
His impact has grown with each opportunity as he continues to prove his value within the unit. Thomas’ ability to disrupt plays near the line of scrimmage and contribute in coverage has separated him from many veteran counterparts across the NFL. Seahawks analyst Brian Nemhauser highlighted Thomas’ statistical achievements through the first portion of the season in a recent post on X.

The NC State product recorded six tackles in Seattle’s 44-22 victory over the Arizona Cardinals this past weekend. Four of those stops came as solo tackles, including two for loss that helped limit Arizona’s offensive rhythm. His most impactful play came when he shot through the line to bring down Bam Knight behind the scrimmage line.
Standing at 5 feet 11 inches and 228 pounds, Thomas has proven his size does not limit his effectiveness. He has filled the void left by injured starters while establishing himself as a versatile defender capable of handling multiple assignments.
Thomas has accumulated 46 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, six passes defended, and three sacks. He has recorded at least one tackle for loss in every start during that stretch, reinforcing his reliability as a first-team contributor for Seattle’s top-five defense.
